Twin Falls high speed pursuit ends with foot chase, suspect still not in custody

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - According to the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, an 18-year-old man led law enforcement officers on a pursuit into a residential neighborhood.

SIRCOMM notified deputies that a Jerome officer was involved in the pursuit on Tuesday night near 9 p.m. A Twin Falls deputy was nearby and joined the pursuit.

The driver has been identified as Alejandro Vielmas by a Jerome officer. He was driving a Mitisbushi Eclipse and ran several red lights and stop signs.

As the vehicle approached the intersection of Walnut and Spruce, the deputy attempted a pit maneuver.

As the vehicle came to a stop, Vielmas exited the vehicle and ran eastbound. The deputy followed on foot, along with a K9 team from the Twin Falls Police Department and other officers joined in on the search.

The sheriff's office said the suspect was not found.
