DIETRICH, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) A 10–million dollar civil suit has been filed by the victim of last October's alleged sexual assault.
The suit is seeking damages from the Dietrich school district, along with ten individuals.
The suit claims the Dietrich administration, including coaching staff and other faculty at the Dietrich High School placed him in danger and acted with "Deliberate indifference to a known and obvious danger."
The suit said those dangerous situations included racist name calling and beatings overseen and encouraged by the coach, which ultimately led to a locker– room assault involving the penetration with a foreign object of the victim's rectum.
The foreign object in this case was allegedly a coat hanger.
The suit claims that race was a factor in these incidents, and that the victim has suffered permanent physical and emotional damage.
