Water line bursts in Twin Falls

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Highland Avenue in Twin Falls closes due to a water line bursting Thursday morning.

Crews from the Twin Falls Water Department are repairing a water main line that burst around 10 a.m. Thursday morning. One resident who lives on Highland Avenue, said they looked out their window Thursday morning to find water flowing into their yard.

The cause of the water line is not yet determined, but officials say it's likely due to overuse and the cold temperatures during the winter.

"Once we get down to the pipe, we should have it repaired by the end of the day," Twin Fall's Water Distribution Supervisor Mark Libert said. "You can see where the water was coming out of the ground where the gravel has been washed out in the road. So I think it's going to be a smaller repair."

Officials stress that other than some damage and closing Highland Avenue, there shouldn't other inconveniences placed on residents. They also said that nobody should expect to see their water service interrupted due to the bursted line.
