TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) In our Winter Outlook we said that January 2019 was going to be warmer than average in terms of temperatures and drier than average in terms of precipitation. Well now with January 2019 in the books, how accurate was our prediction? Find out that answer below along with some other statistics regarding the weather last month.

TEMPERATURES:

HIGH TEMPERATURES:

Our average January 2019 temperature was 30.6° which is 1.1° warmer than our climatological average January temperature of 29.5°. This means that January 2019 was WARMER than average in terms of temperature.

PRECIPITATION:

In January, we recorded 0.80 inches of precipitation, which is 0.18 inches below our average precipitation for January of 0.98 inches. This means that January 2019 was DRIER than average in terms of precipitation.

SNOWFALL:

We did receive snowfall this month in Twin Falls, but at the Magic Valley Regional Airport, where our records are kept, they did not record any measurable amounts of snowfall this month.
