Weather blog: The last time we hit 90 in Southern Idaho

After the cold and snowy winter and the cool and damp spring, it’s nice to see summer warmth make a return to Southern Idaho. To some, the talk of 90 may be too hot but I am absolutely ready for the summer warmth. The forecast for Wednesday in Southern Idaho is for afternoon temperatures to approach 90 degrees for the first time since last August. Here are some of the stats I found from last year to this year.
The last time we hit 90 in Twin Falls was August 31, 2016 and it was 90. Jerome it was a high of 99 back on August 30, 2016 and Burley August 30, 2016 with a high of 94. It will be a close call on Wednesday as afternoon highs are forecasted to be 90 for Twin Falls, 89 Burley and 89 for Jerome. Some may get there while others may have to wait a few more weeks to reach the 90 degree mark.
In 2016 – Twin Falls didn’t hit 90 until June 5. Compared to last year, we may actually be a little ahead of schedule. If you are not a fan of the heat, don’t worry cooler conditions arrive Thursday. Cold front will sweep through with a chance of a passing shower or storm and highs for the end of the week ranging from the middle to upper 70s by Friday.
