HAILEY, Id. ( KMVT / KSVT ) - Hailey Elementary School is now displaying a new piece of fine artwork, in the form of some favorite children's books characters made out of clay.

Today art students from Wood River High School delivered the finished ceramic pieces and put together a totem pole in the elementary school library.

The totem pole will stay in the library for the younger students to enjoy.
High school students met with the elementary students earlier in the year to figure out which characters would be best for the display.

"I thought the students did an exceptional job. It was a big learning stretch for them to create pieces that are this size with all the detail and representing specific characters, and it was really good," said Betty Ervin, Wood River High School art teacher.

Some of the characters on the totem pole include Wilber from Charlotte's Web, Ivan the Ape, and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
