Wood River Valley owners see good business with recent snowfall

KETCHUM, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) With the recent snowfall in the Wood River Valley, business owners say sales in the past month have been great for them.

Head Honcho Bryant Dunn of Sun Valley Outfitters in Ketchum said the word-of-mouth from tourist, telling their friends or family members that the valley is place to be for winter recreation helps bring in more people.

"Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and others hear that there's good skiing and they come up here. We love it. We see business increase when snowfall increases," Dunn said.

Melina Burdette is the owner of of Image Eyes Optical and wasn't expecting as many shoppers out in the snow.

"The couple of snow days when they cancel school, I thought we were going to be really, really slow but we've been busy I think because people don't know what else to so they go out and go shopping, " Burdette said.
