A tale of two halves for Jerome as the season comes to an end

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) We've made it, the final regular season games for almost all but one classification.

We start off in the 4-A ranks with a matchup that pits a team that's already locked up the one seed and a team looking for a playoff berth.

If you guessed Century at Jerome, then you're right! The Tigers were up 19-7 at the half, but the third quarter went anything but in Jerome's favor.

It started with this long kickoff return by Cole Mckinlay, who crosses into Tiger territory. Just a few plays later, the Diamondbacks in the red zone and Dequa Lang punches it in. After the extra point, it's now a five point game.

On special teams, Garrett Ellison's punt goes off a Diamondback
but Carter Clifford picks it up easily, giving Century excellent field position.

And just minutes later, Jackson Yearsley, finds a seam thanks to great blocking and now Century has the lead, 21-19.

Century outscores Jerome in the second half, 42-8. They win 49-27.

The Tigers are now done for the season because of a tiebreaker scenario. Both Jerome and Pocatello played Mountain Home this season, but only the Indians came out the victor.

So then the Indians were matched up against District VI for an at-large berth. In that case, it's Blackfoot. And it's the Broncos moving onto the state playoffs because of two common opponents. Blackfoot beat these teams (Preston and Shelley) earlier this season, while the Indians did not.
