JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Three-time defending state champion Zeke Williamson is headed to the Midwest to continue his wrestling career.
The Jerome senior signed with Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota.
The Huskies are ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division II preseason rankings and boast three national championships since 2015.
He's looking for his fourth individual state championship this winter and hopefully win a national title in the offseason. Williamson is already a three-time All-American as well.
"I'm excited to be in the heart of wrestling for sure," Williamson explained. "That's definitely a lot more around where the big name states are, big wrestlers, I'm excited to see how I do."
His club coach Ivan added, "one the one hand, I'm excited, he has a nice opportunity to Continue his wrestling career at one of the prestigious colleges in the country, but on the other hand, he's leaving he's flying away!"
Williamson told me that Jerome is in prime position to have its best season in years.
