Bagley, Hill lead Burley past Minico; local scores

BURLEY, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Burley High School gym was filled with thousands of fans Friday, welcoming rival Minico to town and both are seeking the top spot in the conference.

Last year, Burley won the district championship and beat the Spartans two out of three times during the season.

It's always a huge game when these two play. A tight one in the first half, Regan Povlsen working Jackson Hill, he gets the bucket and one. The senior leading the Spartans with 15 points. But the Bobcats answer right back, Hill was putting up some numbers on the offensive end, he produced 12 points.

Ryan Bagley attacked the Spartans towards the end of the first quarter, he accounted for a game-high 21 points and Burley pulled away 57-43.

Minico shot 3-19 from three-point range. Spartans head coach Ty Shippen wants to see a better defensive effort in the next meeting.

Burley is now 2-0 in conference, 7-3 overall. Minico falls to 1-1 in conference, 8-4 overall.
