BLISS, Idaho ( KMVT/ KSVT ) Tuesday afternoon's Buhl-Bliss boys' soccer game got off to a rocky start, starting 35 minutes late.
The Indians had bus trouble and actually arrived in a Gooding School District bus.
The Indians head coach said they jumped on the bus after the driver dropped off the Senators Volleyball team in Buhl.
Bliss ended up winning the match 4-0. The Bears improve to 13-1 overall. They owned the one seed headed into the playoffs with a first round bye. Now there's a lot of pressure on Bliss. After all, the team took third in the 2016 state playoffs and feel positioned to make a run two years in a row.
We hear from two of the team's captains.
Bliss coach Dustin Henkelmann's notes: Alex Cruz scored the first goal from a long set piece many yards outside the box. We went into the half 1-0 and that first goal was very fortunate for us. The first goal in the second half was also very fortunate. Ferny Marez scored a on a header that sent the ball just past the goal line. Armando Cordoba then converted a long assist from Ramon Rubalcava to net Bliss' third goal of the night. Ferny then sealed the win for Bliss with another header in the box. Jose Perez started in goal and made two saves before he collided with one of his defenders and injured his wrist.
Bliss now has another shot against the Community School for the district title.
