CORVALLIS, Or. (KMVT/KSVT) Boise State and Oregon State went all of regulation and then some on Saturday in the first round of the tournament.
But sadly Bronco fans, the Beavers pulled off the victory in overtime, an 80-75 defeat.
BSU led 66-62 with 15 seconds left, but watched their lead crumble. The five point defeat marked the Broncos' lowest in program history.
Boise State has yet to win an NCAA tournament game, now at 0-6.
But the Broncos did accomplish a lot this season, including winning back to back to back Mountain West Championships and a program-best 28 games.
Head coach Gordy Presnell said, "down the stretch they hit a one second 30 footer that hurt us and momentum went south there a little bit." He added, "you know I'm really proud of our team, our effort and our school. I'm going to miss our seniors, two of them are really unbelievable."
Boise State senior Marta Hermida led all players with 22 points.
Mountain View grad Destiny Slocum had eight in the win for the Beavers. They face Gonzaga next.
