Boise State to face Boston College in First Responder Bowl

BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Boise State knows its bowl game destination, Dallas. The Broncos will face Boston College in the First Responder Bowl (formerly known as the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl).

The game is set for December 26 at 11:30 a.m. MT and will be televised on ESPN.

These two last faced off in the 2005 MPC Computers Bowl. The Eagles beat the Broncos 27-21, leading by 24 at halftime. The Boise State MVP that game was quarterback Jared Zabransky.

Boston College last won a bowl game in 2016 against Maryland in the Quick Lane Bowl.

Boise State lost a heart-breaker in the Mountain West Championship Saturday night against Fresno State, 19-16 in overtime.

Junior Alexander Mattison had 200 rushing yards and a 34 yard touchdown. He explained his his involvement in the game, "things were working out for us up front." "Guys were getting some movement so we decided to rely on the run game, but at the end of the day we didn't get the job done."

Broncos head coach Bryan Harsin was disappointed with the outcome, but hungry for bowl season. "I am proud of this team, what they have been able to accomplish this season," Harsin said. "But at the same time, it's disappointing and it should be, you play for a championship and you don't win that game, it's disappointing. That's okay. You didn't win it, it hurts, you should use this as motivation to move forward. That's what happens in games this like when you don't find a way to win."
