BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) While college football may be a few months out, it was day three of the annual football bowl association conference, this year held in Boise.
A first for the gem state.
The association made the decision a few years ago to hold their conference in bowl cities instead of just major markets across the country.
350 representatives from 41 bowl games gathered at the Boise Centre to meet with one another, recap the previous year and hear lectures from industry leaders to prepare for the upcoming college football season.
“For the first time ever, we have our executive director of the Football Bowl Association actually sitting on a NCAA committee,” said Kevin McDonald, Chairman of the Football Bowl Association. “So we're in the room, we have a voice. We don't always have a vote at the NCAA we understand what's happened legislatively and we're having input into decisions before they become rules inside the halls at NCAA.”
The vendors on hand showcased new items and products that bowls may potentially hand out to the players when they come to their game.
Mcdonald says Boise received rave reviews about the clean and consolidated downtown area, on top of the friendly residents.
