Preston defeats Twin Falls in the Great Basin District Championship, 55-46. Faust Ystueta was the only Bruin to score in double figures, with 19 points. The 20-3 Bruins will face Idaho Falls in the first round of the 4A state tournament at Borah High School, starting at 8 p.m.


Oakley's Gannon Critchfield hits the game-winning free throw and had a team-high 13 points, as the Hornets take the No. 2 seed to a state play-in game on Saturday. They face Prairie at McCall-Donnelly High School, tip-off slated for 1 p.m. Kody H. had a game-high 16 points in the loss, while Carson G. added 10. The Pilots fall to 17-6 on the season, Oakley improves to 15-9.


The No. 5 seed Carey shocks the No. 2 seed Camas County, 43-40 to book a trip to the 1A DII state tournament. Meanwhile, the Mushers will travel to Pocatello on Saturday for a state play-in game against Rockland starting at 3 p.m.
