Bruins sign letters of intent to play collegiate sports

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Two Twin Falls Bruins have decided on their collegiate and athletic futures.

MacKenzie Connell is taking her softball career to Walla Walla Community College in Washington.

Two-sport soon-to-be collegiate athlete Madison Hicks will play soccer and run track for Spokane Community College.

Both girls signed their letters of intent in front of dozens of friends and family members surrounded by parents and coaches.

Those who spoke upon the two athletes shared stories, and their excitement to see them taking their talents to the next level.

"Spokane stood out for me because getting out of Idaho would've been nice, then I got offered for track at Spokane. I've always been an athlete my whole life so doing two sports is going to be good for me," shared Madison.

“My strong suits are center field and pitcher. By doing that I feel I'll be able to step up the team’s performance on defense,” said MacKenzie.

Madison’s decision ultimately came down to where she would be challenged, and able to thrive.

Mackenzie stressed she wouldn't be in this position if it weren't for her coaches and can't wait to play collegiate softball.

Madison plans to study physical therapy, and Mackenzie dental hygiene.
