Buhl is state bound after miraculous turnaround

FILER, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Thursday's game between Buhl and Filer was nothing short of physical.

The teams battled all the way through regulation and into overtime, Buhl ended up taking it 47-39

Filer head coach Mike Amaya said that free throws played in a factor in the outcome.

Leading the way for the Indians, Emily Gorrell who posted a game-high 23 points and Kyra Azevedo added 16.

Pacing the Wildcats, Ella Fischer with 15.

The No. 4 seed Buhl never beat a conference opponent until the District IV tournament. Then they went 3-1.


Filer takes on Teton in a state play-in game on Saturday, February 9 at Pocatello High School, tip-off is slated for 1 p.m..

Buhl faces Homedale in round one of the 3A state tournament held at Skyview High School in Nampa on February 14.
