CSI Men's Basketball overcomes sluggish start to take down Mesa CC

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) CSI Men's Basketball cruised through the opening round of the Hilex Poly Invitational Friday night, but Saturday night's opponent, Mesa Community College would be a little tougher.

Mesa came in with an undefeated record and just like CSI, featured plenty of new faces. Elijah Moore is one of only two returners for the T–Birds. He played a major role for mesa, finishing with a game–high 21 points.

CSI played a little sloppy in the beginning of the game, leading to easy turnovers for the Thunderbirds.

It was a tight one through the early part of the first half. The golden eagles took a 48–37 lead at halftime and then pulled away in the second half and won 94–71.

Jaxon Edelmayer led the fellas with 17 points, while CoreyounRushin, Coleman Sparling and Roberto Gittens all added 14 each. David walker also scored 13.

CSI hosts Treasure Valley on Tuesday, before heading to Arizona over Thanksgiving break.
