CSI Men's Basketball ready for challenges at elite Indian Hills Tournament

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Taking long bus rides or flying halfway across the country is becoming pretty routine for the CSI Men's Basketball team. The fellas fly out Thursday to Iowa for the elite Indian Hills tournament.

CSI will face two powerhouse teams this weekend, No. 12 ranked Indian Hills and No. 16 Missouri State–West Plains.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a rare loss, an 82–75 defeat to 17th ranked Arizona Western.

CSI so far has amassed a 7–2 record.

They're accomplishing this task without All–American Khalid Thomas and a slew of freshmen stepping up to the challenge.

David Walker out of Toronto is second on the team in scoring with 14 points per game and Rexburg native Jaxon Edelmayer is dropping 13.3 points a contest.

Meanwhile, sophomore Malik Porter has emerged into a threat down low, averaging nearly a double double in points and rebounds.

Walker exclaimed, "we're excited, we just want to get back in and not lose a game. We were just on a streak." "We gotta do what we do. It's a good place here, as a freshman, I'm glad I'm here."

Porter added, "we got to play a lot more together than last year because we had Chuck."

The Golden Eagles return home next Friday for the Wright Physical Therapy Shootout.
