TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) CSI Volleyball hit the court Saturday for a scrimmage against the College of Idaho. It marked their lone preseason match and only time until September you can see the ladies competing at home.
The Golden Eagles travel to Richfield, Utah later this month for the Snow College Volleyball Invitational.
With a week of practice under their belts, the team is trying to establish their identity. The Yotes came at the Golden Eagles with a lot of off–speed hits and CSI is working on adjustments and defense as a whole.
We caught up with freshman Kylie Baumert on her first match since graduating from Twin Falls High School.
The speed is so much faster, the game is a much higher level, but it was good. I think i transitioned well, but it's a transition for everyone.
As for the Yotes, Saturday's match featured Lighthouse grad and three–year starter Jackie van Vliet. She had a breakout season last year and earned all–tournament honors at nationals.
And former CSI setter Marija Djonovic who's coming off a record–setting campaign earning first–team All–American honors.
Van Vliet said, "CSI is a great team, they always challenge us. They're a great all around team, they really push each individual player."
"CSI is a great team, they have a lot of potential, I love it. I was at nationals my freshman year we won a national championship and it was really good to be at nationals with my new team," Djonovic said.
