CSI Women's Basketball takes a 3-0 record on the road

TWIN FALLS, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) The No. 24 College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team remains undefeated heading into this weekend.

The ladies downed Miles City, Williston State and Western Nebraska. The team got on the bus Thursday morning to head to Arizona for a Friday evening game against Mesa and Saturday afternoon contest versus Cochise.

The ladies will feature more depth and speed this season.

Leading the scoring attack last game, Tiena Afu. The sophomore post scored 17 points on 8-10 shooting and pulled down 10 rebounds. We hear from her, plus sophomore Meghan Hughes and coach Randy Rogers.

Afu said, "we are going to be a little bit faster than last year. We are excited to get out there, just the style Coach Rogers wanted us to play, he recruited a lot of guards. Going into sophomore year, there's definitely a lot more confidence. You just feel more comfortable, but you get better playing at this level. We're a little deeper this year, we have shooters, our big kids are playing well this year, we're definitely shooting better at a higher percentage. it's early so things can change, I like our transition, I like how we can get up and down the floor and we have guards who can really push it."

Mesa will actually live stream the games at mesatbirdsports.com.
