CSI holds off Salt Lake's comeback

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) No. 21 CSI beat No.15 Salt Lake 62-60 after the Bruins missed the game-winning three.

The Golden Eagles led by 14 at halftime, limiting the Bruins to just 18 points on 38% shooting. But then Salt Lake chipped away at that lead.

Lauren Gustin, the Idaho transfer helped in this respect, she had 14 points and 17 rebounds. But Mikiala Maio led the charge, she had a game-high 22 points.

The game got within single digits in the third quarter, as Salt Lake outscored CSI 21 to 14, more points then they had in the entire first half.

CSI had to dig deep and Ka'Maree Donald stepped up on defense with steals and finding teammates down low.

CSI up two with under a minute to go, Kaela McClure's three misses, Salt Lake clears and they have time to win the game.

With time winding down, Maio drives, she dishes to Laura Pichot, her shot no good.

Petra Farkas was the offensive weapon the Golden Eagles needed, with a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Farkas said, "that's our first conference game, so we had to be better than the other games, I think everybody plays what we've been practicing yesterday and earlier. I think everybody just playing with heart."
