Carey fights off Lighthouse to win back to back championships

POCATELLO, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Carey beat Lighthouse once in the regular season by the final of 34–8.

Since then, the Lions have never lost, winning nine games in a row.

The Panthers knew Lighthouse would make a run in the playoffs and here they are playing for the championship.

Carey led 20–6 at halftime, but Lighthouse rallied, they scored first in the third quarter to make it a six point game.

Then the Panthers added a touchdown two minutes later.

But Carey never scored again and had to hold off the Lighthouse rally, to win their second state championship in a row, by the final of 26–20.

The school plans to unveil the banner on Monday, November 26th in an assembly.
