Dietrich holds off Murtaugh's comeback; other playoff scores

SHOSHONE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Dietrich got off to a fast start and prevailed over a scrappy Murtaugh team, 36-34 in the Sawtooth Conference tournament second place game. That means the Red Devils have to get into the state tournament via a state play-in game.

Brianna Astle posted a game-high 16 points in the win.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Murtaugh faces Sho-Ban on Saturday at Pocatello High School in a state play-in game. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. Red Devils head coach Todd Jensen says that Sho-Ban is a fast team that likes to shoot the three.

Dietrich takes on Salmon River February 14 at 3 p.m. in the first round of the 1A DII state playoffs. The location is Nampa High School.

4A ACTION:

Century 47, Minico 31: The Diamondbacks won the Great Basin Ten Tournament, while the Spartans will be the No. 2 seed. Minico faces Hillcrest in the first round of the state playoffs on February 14 at Timberline High School, tip-off is at 8 p.m.

1A DI ACTION:

Raft River 41, Valley 34: Braylee Heaton led Raft River with 12 points, while Kamri Ottley and Macie Larson added 10 points in the elimination game. No one for the Vikings reached double digits. The Trojans have earned a berth in a state play-in game on Saturday, February 9 at McCall-Donnelly High School versus Genesee. Tip-off is 1 p.m.
