Dietrich claims fourth seed entering 1A DII state playoffs; 1A roundup

DIETRICH, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Carey cruised through the regular season, amassing a 7-0 record. The number one team in the 1A DII on the road at Dietrich, where the Blue Devils are playing for seeding.

First half, Carey has a 14-0 lead over Dietrich. Panthers ball and QB hunter smith, just a sophomore airs it out for Brigham Parke who pulls it in for the touchdown, the Panthers go up 20-0 and that would stay that way, due to the failed two point conversion.

On the kickoff, Jett Shaw fields it, but the freshman is greeted by the Parke boys who knock him to the ground.

Dietrich though gets moving, Brady Power, on the quarterback keeper, young as well, just a sophomore keeps it and gets a big first down as he makes his way to the outside. That leads to a Dietrich touchdown, making it a 20-8 game.

But the Panthers pull away, clobbering the Blue Devils, 66-28. Smith had three touchdowns and Carson Simpson ran for 206 yards.

The Blue Devils fall to 4-3 in conference play, while they're 6-3 overall.

With the huge 57-14 win over Hagerman and the Blue Devil loss, Murtaugh is the third seed from District IV, while Dietrich will be fourth. The Red Devils travel to Mackay on Friday in the first round of the state playoffs.

The Lions of Lighthouse roared loudly, in the 60-6 win over Camas.


Raft River kicks Butte County to the curb, 38-20.

Valley just barely coming out on top with a win over Challis: 50-46. Challis led 34-24 at halftime. Jason Hardy found Nic Anderson with less than two minutes to go, giving the Vikings a 50-46 lead. Hardy led the Vikings with 306 passing yards to go along with 160 rushing yards. Zane Mussman had 96 receiving yards.

And Glenns Ferry losing to Oakley 52-12.
