TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Just like its baseball counterpart, CSI Softball features two All-Americans. Freshman Tristin Evans and sophomore Melanie Groenewegen led the team in several hitting categories.
For Evans, a first-team All-American, she belted a team-best 24 home runs and drove in 71, all while producing a .485 batting average.
Groenewegen, a second-team selection smacked 17 home runs and produced 82 RBI's. She recorded an impressive .518 batting average.
"They bought into the process and what we’re doing and what was expected of them. They came in every day and did what was asked of them. They knew what to do to get the job done, they trusted each other and they became a team and a unit that worked well together. I play a lot of our success to that as well," assistant coach Cortney Clark explained.
CSI finished seventh in the nation.
