BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) No. 5 Century traveled to Burley Friday night. The Diamondbacks entered the contest riding a three-game win streak. Burley has fallen from its hot start to the year, looking to regroup.
Century opened the game with with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
The Bobcats tried to answer, but Dillon Samana intercepted a pass by Ethan Gibbons. That led to a touchdown from Nathan Manning to Titan Fleischmann, putting Century up 14-0.
Burley couldn't maintain ball security this quarter, as Riley Stephens fumbled the ball in Bobcat territory.
And just moments later, Manning found Jovan Sowell to make it a 21-0 game.
They scored again later in the quarter to go up 28-0.
After scoring in the first three quarters, Century didn't reach paydirt at all in the fourth. That's when the Bobcats found the endzone twice, but it was too little, too late.
This one all Diamondbacks, 42-14, to stay atop the Great Basin East.
Century moves to 4-1 on the season, 3-0 in conference play. Minico is also keeping pace, but the Spartans have only played one Great Basin East pod opponent and sit at 1-0 in conference, 5-0 overall.
With the loss, the Bobcats now fall to 2-3, having lost three straight. Burley faces Mountain Home on the road Friday, September 28. The Tigers are also 2-3 on the year after losing to Kimberly, 44-27.
