Filer teen finishes second at PDGA Junior Disc competition

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) A local teen just took second place at the PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships. Trenton Higley is the runner–up in the 18 and under division, losing to only Jason Harden Jr. of Portland.

The 16 year–old from Filer says he started off clean and putted really well.

The championships take place in Emporia, Kansas and feature six rounds of 62 competitors.

Higley said, "everyone was supportive of disc golf and everything we did they loved every minute of it, everyone was supportive, it was super fun."

Higley will compete in the state championship at Lake Walcott in September. He hopes to be back at Worlds in 2019 contending for the title.
