Fitzgerald and company shut out Tigers

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) When it comes to 3A girls soccer, there are just a trio of undefeated teams remaining in the state. One of those is the Sun Valley Community School.

The Lady Cutthroats putting their unblemished record on the line against Timberlake Thursday afternoon.

Lily Fitzgerald and company would keep the Tgers' keeper busy throughout the first half, but credit her tenacity. Although Cutthroat fans didn't appreciate it!

Fitzgerald on the breakaway, but her shot goes right into the keeper's hands. Just moments later, her shot finds the left-hand side of the net and it's 1–0.

Mackenzie Wells keeping pace with the senior forward. But Sun Valley's career scoring leader too explosive, it's now 2–0.

That's all the offense the Lady Cutthroats needed. They advance to the semi–finals, taking on an undefeated Sugar–Salem team Friday at 2 p.m.

Fitzgerald now has 50 goals on the season. She also holds the school record for most career goals, which she reached as a junior.
