Geddes qualifies for national competition

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) A Twin Falls runner just qualified for nationals, becoming the first Lady Bruin ever to do so.

Mattalyn Geddes finished fifth overall at the NXR Northwest Regional championships, held in Eagle.

The junior beat the Treasure Valley heavyweights like Lexy Halladay and was the top Idaho finisher. She finished with a time of 17:44.5.

The four others with faster times included two from Washington, one from Montana and the other Wyoming.

Now she prepares for the NXR Nationals in Portland on December 1.
