Golden Eagles Volleyball team headed back to NJCAA Nationals

EPHRAIM, Utah (KMVT/KSVT) The College of Southern Idaho’s Volleyball team advanced to the Region 18 tournament after finishing the conference at 8-2.

The Golden Eagles had one more to go.

After downing USU Eastern on Friday 3-1 they advanced to play Snow College Saturday with the NJCAA National tournament on the line.

In the game on Friday Airi Maiyabe and Jojo Kruize combined for 33 kills and 27 digs to lead the team.

In Saturday’s game against Snow College; the teams’ third match-up of the year, and it only took three sets.

The Golden Eagles punched their ticket to nationals by winning 26-24, 25-18 and 25-23.

Airi Miyabe had another solid match with 16 kills and 7 digs. The Japan native would earn herself Region 18 tournament MVP.

Other Golden Eagles named to the All-Tournament team were Shilo Peleras and Morgan Weatherwax.

The NJCAA National tournament will be from Nov. 16t-18 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
