Gooding Girls Basketball takes No. 3 to districts; local roundup

FILER, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) We're less than a week out to the SCIC district tournament. When it comes to seeding, the top two teams have been determined.

But one game decided the third and fourth seeds.

We take you to Filer Tuesday night as the Wildcats host Gooding. Filer down by three early in the third, Jailyn Gartner drives, finds Kaitlin Porter in the corner, nothing but net. It's now a one point game

On the inbounds play, Ella Fischer takes the pass and goes up strong, getting the bucket and harm, the Wildcats are up by one.

Senators only scored one point in the last few minutes, Wildcats taking advantage, as sophomore Haven Jones drains it.

Filer has gone on an 8-3 run. But here comes Gooding, first with this long range jumper by Gracie Faulkner. She had 11 points on the night.

And Grace Parker kept taking advantage of steals turning them into points. She had a game-high 26 points and Gooding prevails, 55-46, getting the season sweep. Districts start Monday.


Twin Falls 61, Jerome 46: The Bruins used a balanced attack to defeat the Tigers. Kylie Baumert posted 15 points, Morgan Harr added 13 and Paige Beem scored 12.

Shoshone 46, Hagerman 28: Monce Rivas led the Lady Indians 14 points, while Bailee Owens added 13. Elly Yore produced 12 points and Alana Floyd added 10.

Kimberly 61, Filer 30: Trey Garey led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

Carey 49, Lighthouse 34: Hayden Wayment had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
