MINICO, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The matchup for the number one spot in the Great Basin Conference as Minico hosted Twin Falls.

Twin falls is ranked at number one in the 4A, 3-0 in conference. Minico ranked at number two, 2-0 in conference. Someone was leaving Friday night disappointed.

Minico looking offensively forward to start, but the Bruins’ defense held their own for the first quarter, but it was big plays that kept the Spartans alive.

Last week we heard the name Larry Vega well this week in the first half we heard the name Nicky Caldera, as he was making impressive catches keeping the Spartans drives alive.

Minico would turn the ball over on downs after being in the red zone.

This would let Twin Falls quarterback Carson Walters connect with Drew Meyerhoeffer who would run it all the way back down the field for the Bruins only score of the night.

The Spartans would allow the Bruins just this one lead, before taking charge and handing them their first loss and taking the first place ranking from them with a final score of 21-7.
