Hammond leads Kimberly past Gooding; local scores

KIMBERLY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Bulldogs welcomed in conference foe, Gooding on Friday. The Senators have yet to win a game this season, looking to break that trend.

Early second quarter, the home team with a slim lead, Braxton Hammond checks to see if the bank is open, it's good and he cashes in his shot for two points.

Bulldogs in a full court press and they cause a disruption in Gooding's passing game.

This time Hammond goes to the left and gets the bucket, he had a game-high 19 points. When he's not scoring he's throwing beautiful passes to teammate Peyton Bair on the alley-oop.

Gooding looking to keep pace, Colston Loveland, the freshman with the block of Bair, and he finds his older brother Cayden in transition. He misses, there for cleanup is Skylar Cheney. Gooding down only three points.

They couldn't pull off the upset though. Kimberly moves to 3-0 in conference play after the 51-41 victory.

Gavin Martin led the Senators with 16 points.


Minico 85, Canyon Ridge 63: Kasen Carpenter had 21, Kobe Matsen added 17, while Philip Boettcher added 16.

Twin Falls 72, Burley 54: Mitch Brizee produced a game-high 20 points, while Faust Ystueta added 17. Jace Whiting paced the Bobcats with 17 points and seven rebounds. Ridge Garrard added 11, Riley Loveland produced 10 and Ethan Gibbons added nine.
