The Idaho State men's basketball team held off a late Northern Arizona rally to earn an 81-79 road win on Thursday night at the Walkup Sky Dome in Flagstaff, Ariz. Idaho State improved to 9-12 and 5-7 in Big Sky play while NAU dropped to 7-15 and 5-7 in league.

Idaho got down early and couldn’t find an answer, falling at top-ranked Montana, 100-59, on Thursday night. The Vandals played better in the second half, switching lines throughout. In the end, Montana took the win, 100-59. Idaho shot 44.7 percent (21-of-47) from the floor and 38.9 percent (7-of-18) from range. The Vandals committed a season-high 22 turnovers and were outrebounded, 33-22.


Idaho senior Mikayla Ferenz entered into Thursday’s game 16 points shy of passing Idaho’s all-time scoring leader and Hall of Famer Alli Nieman. Finishing with 23 points, Ferenz claimed the top spot in Idaho basketball history as she helped the Vandals (12-8, 9-2 Big Sky) to a 76-68 rout of the Lady Griz (10-10, 5-6 Big Sky).


No. 13 CSI 62, USU Eastern 52: Down two at halftime, the Golden Eagles outscored the Eagles 38-25 in the second half. CSI's defense stepped up big, limiting the Eagles to just 30% from the floor and 19% from beyond the arch.

Leading the way for the Golden Eagles, Coreyoun Rushin who had 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Malik Porter added 13 points and nine rebounds.

CSI now 21-5 overall and 6-2 in conference plays host to Salt Lake on Thursday.


USU Eastern 75, CSI 65: Allie Thayne led the Golden Eagles with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Denajha Kie added 10 points and four assists in the loss.

CSI, now 4-4 in conference play, is tied with USU Eastern in third place.

The women host Salt Lake on Thursday, February 14 at 5:30 p.m.
