Idaho's Ferenz named National Player of the Week

MOSCOW, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Idaho standout Mikayla Ferenz earned national honors once again.

The junior guard named the College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

She averaged 24.0 points per game last week, helping Idaho improve to 6-3 in the Big Sky.

Ferenz produced 33 points at the University of Northern Colorado, marking the first time ever the Vandals won in Greeley. That marked her sixth 30-point effort of the year.

At North Dakota, Ferenz became the first Vandal since 1984 to record a triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

Nationally, Ferenz ranks eighth in scoring with 22.9 points per game and second in 3-point field goals and three's per game.
