Jerome keeps state berth hopes alive; 4A roundup

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) While it would be challenging for three Magic Valley teams to capture the three seeds available from District IV, miracles do happen.

Minico already clinched a berth to state and will face Century on the road Thursday at 7 p.m. for the district championship. The Lady Spartans held off Mountain Home, 39-35. The Diamondbacks crushed Preston, 61-44.

Jerome kept pace with Pocatello Saturday night in the first half, but then pulled away in the second, winning 39-32. Bell had 10 points in the win. The Tigers will try and keep their season alive in a loser-out game at Mountain Home on Tuesday starting at 7 p.m.

Twin Falls eliminated the reigning state champion Burley on Saturday with an easy 46-33 win. Paige Beem posted 20 points, eight of those came from the line. The Bruins now travel to Preston on Tuesday to hopefully keep the season going. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.

Seeds 1-6 remain alive in this conference.
