Kuna wins Wiley Dobbs Invitational; Jerome and Minico follow

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Jerome wrestling took second behind the champion Kuna, after clutch performances.

In the 160 weight class, Saint Cloud State signee Ezekial Williamson held off Tommy McCormick of Churchill County High School for a 5–3 decision. His teammate Remington Winmill beat Carl Hansen of Elko High School for a 4–2 decision in the 182 weight class. In the 220 weight class, Fernando Luna took down Brisyn Cutburth of Fruitland in a 3–1 decision.

Minico finished third, 40 points behind the Tigers. Zak Allred moved to 14–0 on the season after the 7–4 decision over Sam Hyde of Emmett High School. The senior was unfamiliar with Hyde headed into the match. Another Spartan in the championship round, Dawson Osterhout who lost to Blake Beal of Skyview in a 3–1 decision.

All together seven Spartans placed on Saturday. We spoke with Allred on what his coaches told him prior to the championship.

"Just don't get so mad, it's just a sport, might as well do what you love and don't be mad at it," Allred said.

Other local champions? In the 113 weight class, Kade Orr of Buhl, who is now 15–0. And Michael Coy of Kimberly, the senior is 6–0 on the year in the 152 division.
