Lady Bruins, Riverhawks Boys Soccer advance to title game; local scores

The Great Basin Conference Soccer playoffs are underway.

Twin Falls has sailed to a 10-0 record in league play, now gearing up for the Lady Tigers who won in round one.

Bruins score in the opening minute on this goal by Madison Bailey. She slips one in between two defenders for the 1-0 lead.

A few minutes later, Bruins threatening again as Paige Beem is tied up, but Jerome kicks the ball right to Lexi Tierson and she sails one into that same spot of the net for the Bruins' 2-0 lead.

Bruins advance, 4-1 the final and will play the winner of Canyon Ridge - Wood River, that game got postponed until Thursday due to snow.


Burley 8, Minico 0: The Lady Spartans are eliminated from contention. The Bobcats face the Tigers in a loser-out game.


Canyon Ridge Boys Soccer had a first-round bye and taking on Burley Wednesday, who got here by doubling up Minico on Monday, 4-2.

The Riverhawks won both regular season games against the Bobcats by the score of 2-1 and these teams like to play to the wire.

They finished regulation tied at two.

The Riverhawks advance via penalty kicks to take on the winner of Twin Falls, Wood River.

That game is postponed until Thursday due to snow.

Meanwhile, Jerome knocked out Minico, 3-1 to end the Spartans season. Alex Murillo scored in the loss.
