Lady Spartans upset rival Burley; local roundup

BURLEY, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) The only losses on the year for Burley and Minico were at the hands of 5A opponents. Currently the Lady Bobcats rank fourth in the 4A media poll, while Minico is receiving votes.

A good one here Thursday night that would move either team into first place with Twin Falls in the conference.

The teams go four minutes without scoring, but the Bobcats get on the board.

As Hallie Cook works the baseline and goes strong to the hoop.
Now Burley 2, Minico 0.

About a minute later, same score and Saydi Anderson weaves her way through traffic for two of her 12 points on the night for Minico. Tie game.

Bobcats on the other end, good passing from Sydney Pilling to Jaida Page and finally Jemilynn Mahoney. She had 10 points.

But the senior post was the only Bobcat in double figures as Taylia Stimpson posted a game–high 16 points and the Spartans come away with the upset, 48–38 in enemy territory.
