Lighthouse dominates against Rockland

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Lighthouse Christian School hasn't played Rockland in five years and that year it went in the Lions' favor. Now Lighthouse is trying to escape out of the first round for the first time since 2015.

The Bulldogs entered the postseason with a 3-5 record, while Lighthouse produced a 7-1 mark with the lone loss to the reigning state champion, Carey.

Clay Silva showcasing his speed, just a freshman takes this to the outside and picks up a big first down for Lighthouse early in the first quarter.

Next play, Cooper Dastrup, who's a senior and has a bit more size than his teammate, goes to the left and virtually untouched for the touchdown.

But if the Bulldogs did do something right in this quarter, shut down two point conversion attempts, as Silva is greeted by multiple Bulldogs.

Later in the quarter, Lighthouse up 18-0, Collin Holloway, just a sophomore, with plenty of time rolls out and fires one right on the money to fellow sophomore Chance Gaskill, a lot of youth on this team.

The Lions finally convert a two point conversion and take a 26-0 lead.

Lighthouse eliminates Rockland by the final of 49-12. The Lions will face the winner of Dietrich, North Gem next week.
