TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Lighthouse Christian Lions hosted the Dietrich Blue Devils for a night of 8-man football under the lights.
Before the game KMVT reporter Morgan Rumpf interviewed Lighthouse Head Coach Cory Holloway about the love triangle currently in the 1A-DII and he looked at her like she had three heads.
"We have the football love triangle. Between you-Lighthouse, Murtaugh and Dietrich because you beat Murtaugh, Dietrich fell to Murtaugh. Murtaugh is wondering what's going to happen here tonight. Do you think you have an edge?" Rumpf asked.
"I don't think we have an edge we just take one quarter and that's what we talk about all the time,” Holloway said. “They have a fantastic team, we're expecting them to play very well no matter if Murtaugh beat them or not. This is 8 man football you know crazy things happen."
And crazy did happen very much in favor for the Lions.
Lions scored once in the first quarter and had a busy three touch-down second quarter.
Breaking down two of those big plays.
Quarterback Collin Holloway with the handoff to Cooper Dastrup who runs it in for a 35 yard score, 20-0.
Then the play of the game, from Holloway this time through the air to Clay Silva who dubs and jukes his defenders and races to the back of the end zone, 28-0 and the scoring kept coming.
Dietrich didn't have many attempts to score and when they did they were swatted away by Lions.
With seven minutes left to play in the game Lighthouse put in their backups to hold the lead.
The Lions got it done the week before homecoming beating Dietrich 36-0.
