Filer 9, Kimberly 0: Filer hosted Kimberly for their 3rd conference game of the season. Filer Boys started off strong with goals from Jesus Lopez, Josh Lemus and Tristan Sullivan in the first 20 minutes. Then Martin Perez and Oscar Perez each knocked one in before half. The second half Kimberly made a good push at the beginning but Filer ended strong with goals from Jose Perez, Josiah Elliott, Joseph Bertao and a second goal by Oscar Perez.

GIRLS SOCCER:

Community School 10 (Lily Fitzgerald 3, Christine Estep 2, Crosby Boe 2, Marit Kaiser, Lyla Maxwell, Maddy Dunn). Assists: Fitzgerald 3, Estep , Wendell 0:
The Cutthroats hosted the Wendell Trojans in their first home game Monday night at Sagewillow.

The Cutthroats are 5-0 (4-0 league). They host Gooding Tuesday, Sept. 5.

BOYS SWIMMING:

Twin Falls finished second at the Wood River Invite. Here are some of the highlights: 1st place Mason Mumford 100 Freestyle: 59.22 earned 9pts, 1st place Patrick Obst 500 Freestyle 5:47.19 earned 9pts, 2nd place Obst, Dixon, Case, Prien Boys 400 Freestyle Relay 3:56.43 14 pts

GIRLS SOCCER:

Gooding 4, Kimberly 3: Jessica Torres scored a quick one from outside the box the first 3 minutes in. Both teams duked it out. Kimberly got ahead right before half, 3-2. Jocelene Rios tied it up with 15 left and sent another one in the last ten for the win.

FRIDAY:

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY:

(Coach's Notes) The Twin Falls Bruins finished fifth at the Jerome Invitational. Junior Payson Bingham was the Bruin top runner on the day finishing in the top 5 with a 17:36 time. The Bruins had 7 runners making their high school cross country debut and although all did well freshman Blake Crandall ran a very strong race with a time of 19:48. Bruins Casey Harper, Josh Mix and Brandon Mix also performed well. The Bruins are back in action next Thursday at Lake Walcott.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY:

(Coach's Notes) Twin Falls finished in second place at the Jerome Invitational. Mattie Geddes won with a time of 19:04. Her junior teammates Brinlee Garling (2nd- 20:53) and Lara Maccabee 5th- 22:34) also performed well for the Bruins. On the girls side there were also 11 runners competing in their first meet and freshman Mya Richardson ran a 23:11 finishing 10th overall. Two other underclassmen performed admirably finishing in the top 15: Abigail Anderson sophomore 23:26 and Summer Garling freshman 23:59.

BOYS SOCCER:

Community School 3, Bliss 1 (Henry Cherp 2, & Cash Dart)
Man of the Match: Center midfielder Henry Cherp. Henry has now scored 5 goals in the last two games in Bliss.
Cutthroats are 4-0 (3-0 league)

Filer 2, Buhl 0 (Tristan Sullivan, Jose Perez) With the smoky conditions causing some problems for everyone, the players pushed on. Filer finally broke through with a score from Tristan Sullivan in the 55th minute. Filer continued to push the tempo and eventually got another goal. This time from Jose Perez in the 72nd minute. Filer pulls away with the 2-0 win and now has a 1-1 record.

GIRLS SOCCER:

Filer 5, Buhl 2: Saisha Serratos scored 3 goals, while Griselda Vasquez and Estefany Vargas each scored one.
