TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The No. 4 College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team opened the Starr Corportation Invitational with a sweep over Casper College.

Aside from the aces and kills, it was the pre-game festivities that won over the crowd.

CSI announced that during volleyball season, the court will be named Heidi Cartisser Court after the late coach. Her family attended the event and wore matching shirts with the symbolic one finger in the air, indicating one point left in the match.

Also, it was revealed that during the national tournament in November, Cartisser will be inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Hame.

As for the match, the Golden Eagles won 26-24, 25-14, 25-18. Leading the way, Airi Miyabe with 11 kills, five aces, three digs and three blocks. Jovana Vukcevic added eight kills and two blocks and Kylie Gibson had seven kills.

CSI takes on Northwest College Friday at 7 p.m.

GIRLS SOCCER:

Twin Falls 11, Burley 0: The Bruins took a 7-0 by halftime on goals by Madison Bailey, Kaylin Bailey, Jaycee Bell, Brinlee Stotts, Jaycee Bell, Madison Hicks and then Madison Bailey again. In the second half Madison Hicks scored, assisted by Kennedy Edwards, plus Sidnee Naerebout, Kaylin Bailey and Abigail Williams. The Bruins move to 6-0 in conference, 6-1 overall and sitting in first place in the Great Basin Conference. The Bobcats are 0-4-1 in conference, 0-5-1 overall.
