TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team is adding a local hoops star to their roster for next year.
Taylia Stimpson a shooting guard from Minico high school, has decided to trade her Spartan red for CSI black and gold.
After receiving other offers including division one and two schools, as well as other junior colleges, Taylia said nothing felt more like "home" and where she belonged more than CSI.
Taylia prides herself on her fast paced style of play, something her future coach Randy Rogers is excited for.
He’s well versed in her abilities he's watched her grow up.
“Her mom was able to coach with me my first year here, and I've gotten to know the family through Donnelly sports,” said CSI Head Coach Randy Rogers. “I got to know Dad and just got to watch Rena have kids after kids, and I'm thinking those are going to be some pretty good athletes because she grew up in a gym. That means a lot that means she's seen about everything that can happen, what coaches want, different plays, different styles. Bringing that to our program is going to be a huge bonus.”
“I'm super excited to play for Randy. I've known him for a long time. And like I said the girls are super awesome and I'm excited to play with them,” said Taylia.
She is averaging 15 points a game. Taylia also is an accomplished track star.
