Minico's Cooper retires; Rushton takes over

RUPERT, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Minidoka School District announced this weekend that Hall of Fame wrestling coach Brad Cooper is retiring again.

Cooper himself is a 1978 Minico graduate. He went on to wrestle at Idaho State University on a wrestling scholarship and returned to Rupert to coach the Spartans after graduation.

Cooper and his 2006 Minico squad picked up the 4A state championship – his first, and the school district's third.

Cooper won his second state title with Minico this past season.

Former All-American Boe Rushton will take the helm of the program.

Rushton was a three-time district champion at Wood River before moving on to Boise State.
