Mixed results after the first day of state soccer

The first day of state soccer is in the books.

Brothers Park in Caldwell hosts the 4A tournament. Starting with 4A boys, burley just couldn't find the net Thursday in the 4-0 shutout loss to Sandpoint.

The Bobcats play Blackfoot in a loser-out game.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon game, Wood River knocks off the defending state champion, Skyview 2-1.

The Wolverines take on Ridgevue in the semi-final Thursday at two.

In girls soccer action, Sandpoint also gave Canyon Ridge a rude awakening with the 5-0 loss.

The Lady Riverhawks take on Century in the morning at 11.

District IV champion Twin Falls can't keep up with Vallivue, falling 4-3.

The Bruins take on Skyline Thursday at 11 am also in a loser-out match.

In 3A soccer, Bliss shocks the high school soccer world upsetting previously undefeated Sugar-Salem.

The Bears play Snake River Friday at 2 pm in the semi-final.

Community School edges out Teton, 2-1. Teton scores right at halftime, then James Everitt equalized 10 mins from time, Ridley Lindstrom scored the winner after 7 mins of the first OT. The Cutthroats play Weiser Friday afternoon as well.

Unfortunately, the Lady Cutthroats couldn't get anything going and their undefeated record comes to a close, being upset by Marsh Valley, 1-0

in double overtime this morning.

The Lady Cutthroats take on Sugar-Salem at 11.

And Declo fell to Shelley, 3-0. The Hornets face Timberlake in a loser-out match.
