New semi-pro football league forms in Idaho

WENDELL, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Magic Valley Bulldawgs are members of the newly formed Idaho Football Alliance. The league features teams from the Twin Falls area, Burley, Boise, Ogden and Idaho Falls. This is a different league than the IFCL in Boise and the Rocky Mountain Football League.

The Bulldawgs are led by head coach Cam Joseph, who was an assistant last year.

He has high expectations for his squad who's led by captains, Austin Clark and Trey Barger, both members of the military. The team features guys as young as 18 up to 38 years old.

Joseph said, "it's very, very important to these guys to represent the Magic Valley, so it's important for us, for the community to know about the M.V. Bulldawgs to come out and support these guys."

"We got a good bond out here for the guys that have been showing up" explained Clark. He added, "we've been putting in work. I'm really excited for the season."

Barger exclaimed, "I've been hearing that the coaching staff is the biggest part. I love having actually people that are looking for us, here's our strategy and it's not falling on us." "We have the coaching staff that will help us out with that. They'll do more studying on other teams and double-checking on everything so they're the backbone of the team."

The Bulldawgs travel to Ogden this week for a game on Saturday. They play their home games at Jerome High School and the first one is slated for April 20 against the Boise Guardians, starting at 6:30.
