No. 1 Dietrich prevails past No. 3 Carey; local scores

DIETRICH, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) The North Side Conference could come down to Thursday night in boys basketball.

No. 1 ranked Dietrich hosted No. 3 Carey in a showdown of previous state champions.

With only three losses between them on the season, these fellas are ready to make a run.

We take you to the second quarter, it's a one point game in favor of Carey.

Panthers ball, Kaden Koudelka cuts across, power dribble and goes up for two of his team-high 15 points.

Hayden Wayment trying to keep control of the ball, nearly stolen, but then blocked by 6'7" Slade Dill, Shane Vantassell collects the ball, back to dill who maneuvers his way to the basket. Carey up one.

Koudelka in transition, Vantassell trying to draw a charge, but there's never any contact, nice move by the senior Panther.

But Dill was too much too handle, either by stealing the ball, blocking shots, or finding his teammates in transition, as Kade Shaw goes up for two of his 18.

Dill had a monstrous game himself with 32 points and the number one team in the 1A D-II prevails, 61-54.

Next up for the Panthers, at Oakley on Saturday, while the Blue Devils host Ambrose also on Saturday.
