No. 4 CSI Volleyball sweeps matches at Starr Corporation Invite

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The No. 4 CSI Volleyball team wrapped up the Starr Corporation invite this weekend, never losing a set.

While joy filled the CSI gymnasium, at least for the home team and its fans, it was struggle for those who knew the late head coach.

On Thursday, officials announced the naming of Heidi Cartisser Court, a reference that will be made during volleyball season.

Saturday afternoon's opponent, Treasure Valley Community College, features a former CSI player and Heidi's best friend, Erin Mellinger. Their friendship spanned more than 20 years.

"It's emotional and it's been a tough weekend," exclaimed Mellinger. "She was a wonderful person and best friend and we made plans for us to this tournament last year. And so coming I knew it was going to be hard being in the gym, I haven't been here in since the funeral, but it was amazing to be here and honor her."

CSI beat Treasure Valley in three sets with both Leta Mose and Alexis Mareko pacing the team with eight kills.
